Speech & Language Therapy Services
At Powerful Voices, we deliver speech and language therapy (SALT) that puts the young person at the heart of what we do.
From the very first session, we aim to keep the same therapist throughout the assessment and therapy process, building consistency and trust. If a different specialism is needed and therefore a different therapist, we manage that transition with care, because we understand that change can be tough, and relationship building matters.
Every therapy programme we deliver is holistic, takes a neuro-affirming approach, and is completely needs led. We don’t believe in one size fits all.
Our highly specialist therapists are not only skilled but also friendly, flexible, and responsive to how each young person engages best. Whether that means adapting the pace, style, or strategies we use – we listen and adjust. Tracking progress using Therapy Outcome Measures (TOMs) to make sure what we’re doing is working, and to help keep focused.
Therapy that meets Young People where they are
Our therapy is delivered wherever is most comfortable for the young person.
Whether that is in person, online, at home, school, or an alternative education setting – wherever suits them best.
Because meaningful progress doesn’t happen when a young person is forced to fit into a circumstance that isn’t typical for them or their needs. It happens when we meet them in their world, in ways that feel safe and supportive.
Therapy Frameworks we use
We use the latest evidence based therapy frameworks from credible university studies and global medical journals.
There are different types of approaches, each offering different benefits to meet the needs of the young person we are supporting. Following an assessment to understand their needs, our experienced therapists would select the most appropriate framework for the individual, and adapt where needed based on the young persons response.
LEGO® Therapy uses building activities to foster collaboration, conversation, and problem solving.
