Experience

Since beginning at the company, I have been trained in Attention Autism, Makaton Levels 1-4 and Makaton Safeguarding, Talking Mats and Selective Mutism. I am also trauma informed and am able to apply this to my role when working with parents and young people.  I have gained experience working across a range of settings including homes, mainstream schools, specialist schools and out in the community to develop communication strategies to support functional communication.

As part of my role, I also regularly work closely as part of a multidisciplinary team including teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists and educational psychologists to best promote and ensure coordinated support to best meet each client’s individual needs. I am committed to delivering a holistic, person-centred and evidence-based approach to best support and advocate for my clients to communicate their needs, wants and feelings using their preferred communication method across a range of settings.

About bit about Me

When I’m at home I love to relax by eating chocolate and watching a true crime documentary. Some of my favourite things to do are to spend time with my little girl, to go running in the park, play darts and occasionally do a bit of karaoke.

A fun fact about me is when I was at school I used to do drama and play the oboe.
