Experience
I have over 10 years experience, working across the NHS in both mainstream schools and specialist school teams. I have also worked directly for a primary school and a specialist school in New York City, where I had a dual role as both Speech and Language Therapist and Reading and Writing Teacher.
In my teaching role, I was trained in and delivered Preventing Academic Failure (PAF), an Orton-Gillingham based structured literacy program designed to support children with reading, writing and spelling difficulties, particularly those with dyslexia. I was also trained in and delivered The Writing Revolution, an evidence based approach that teaches writing, comprehension and critical thinking.
Alongside clinical and teaching experiences, I have also undertaken expert witness work, and I am an Elkan Tutor.
About bit about Me
My favourite things are reading a good book, travelling to new places and spending time on the beach. When I am not working, I am usually spending time with my family, playing with my dog, Lola, or baking something sweet.
I have had the privilege of working as a speech and language therapist in two different countries, the UK and the USA and I am also a qualified swimming teacher.
